Mira Mesa Girls Softball is bring backing its competitive All Star program. We are proud of our players and coaches and want to give them the opportunity to compete at the highest level and represent our league with outstanding sportsmanship.

All Star teams are for the most dedicated and highly skilled players from the spring recreational season.

Schedule: The All Star season starts immediately after the spring recreational season ends. Teams start practicing in early May, and play tournaments every weekend between mid-May until 4th of July, culminating with the District finals. Teams that qualify go on to the state competition in Lancaster or Irvine. A tournament schedule will be posted when it is available (potentially 7 tournaments before District).

Teams: We will be creating 12-player teams in the 8U - 12U divisions this year with the goal of expansion in future years based on the talent, coaching and pitching available in a division.

Selection process: We encourage all eligible players from our spring recreational season to apply and come to tryouts on May 1, 2026. Division coaches and managers vote on the teams based on assessment results and evaluations throughout the spring season. The results will usually be announced within a couple of days.

Cost: There is a separate cost for All Stars, which covers tournament entry fees (potentially 7 tournaments), uniforms, helmets, bags, and more. The estimated cost is $550-$750 per player (guaranteed at least 21-23 games with potential for more as we win), fundraising and/or sponsors may offset this cost. This does not include the cost of lodging for any travel tournaments.  

Volunteer commitment: All Star families are expected to volunteer at the SUMMER HEAT CLASSIC tournament in June.

The All-Star experience: The experience is different than our recreational spring season. While our spring season is about instruction, development, and inclusion, All-Stars is about developing advanced skills and a winning attitude in a highly competitive environment. MMGS is committed to forming the best teams possible that will have the greatest opportunity for success.
