Be Softball Ready on Game Day

What to expect on Game day!

Game day is one of the most exciting parts of the season! It’s a time for our players to show their hard work, teamwork, and sportsmanship while having fun on the field. To help ensure everything runs smoothly, here are some helpful tips to get you and your athlete softball ready.

Locations

  • All home games are played at Hourglass Park and Fields.
  • Away games are hosted at the opposing team’s field.
  • Parking and seating vary at each location. Some fields may have limited shade or bleachers, so plan ahead.

Times

  • Once the game schedule is released, any changes or updates will be announced by your coaching staff.
  •  Players should arrive at least one hour prior to game time for warm-ups and team preparation.

What to Bring

  • Athletes must have all required gear and equipment in order to play.
  •  Bring plenty of water to stay hydrated.
  •  Many families bring chairs and/or a shade canopy or umbrella, especially on sunny days.
  •  Snack bars are often available at most fields, but availability can vary.
  •  You are always welcome to bring your own food and drinks.
  •  Please note: alcohol is prohibited at all league events.

Player Appearance & Uniforms

  • Players should wear their full uniform (jersey, pants or shorts, socks, and belt if provided).
  • Cleats are recommended…no metal spikes allowed.
  • Fielder’s face masks are required for all divisions.
  • Hair should be pulled back and away from the face.
  • No jewelry during games for safety.

Game Day Conduct

  • Please show positive sportsmanship! Cheer for all players and respect the umpires.
  • Only coaches and players are allowed inside the dugout or on the field.
  • Parents and fans should sit on the opposite side of the field from the dugout unless otherwise instructed.
  • Remember, these games are for the kids. Keep it fun, encouraging, and supportive.

Optional Game Day Essentials

Consider bringing:

  •  Sunscreen and hats
  • Extra hair ties
  • Cooling towels or portable fans (for hot days)
  • Blankets or jackets (for cool mornings or evenings)
  • Cash or small bills for snack bars

Rainouts or Schedule Changes

  • The league will notify teams through GameChanger to the Coach, Team Parent and/or your team communication chat.
  •  If a game is canceled, coaches will communicate rescheduled dates as soon as possible.

After the Game

  • Please remind players to thank the coaches, umpires, and teammates.
  • Coaches may hold brief team meetings after games, so stick around for any updates or reminders.
  • Help keep fields clean by picking up any trash or equipment left behind.

We Can’t Wait to See You on the Field
